Examination Reslts SVN’s remarkable and consistent success has been due to the dedication of the great teaching and administrative staff and the hard work and discipline of our students and their parents. SVN’s student population comes largely from students whose parents are from low socioeconomic backgrounds. Yet, SVN is able to transform the students to achieve amazing success, even better than Guyana’s elite “Georgetown public school” such as Queens College, that draws the top 1% of students based on admission criteria scores. SVN does not exclude based on admission exam scores.

2017 results

Vamanadev Upendra Hiralall tops Guyana at CAPE and makes history CAPE, the equivalent of Advanced Level at Oxford or Cambridge or London Universities, is a two-year course for each subject. In the Caribbean, each subject, with the exception of Caribbean Studies and Communication Studies, has two units.  Over the two years Vamanadev studied for 9 subjects: Biology, Caribbean Studies, Communication Studies, Computer Science, Environmental Science, Information Technology, Physics, and Pure Mathematics for an equivalent of 16 units (subjects) – a record achievement for a CAPE student or any Advanced Level student in the history of such exams. In all, Vamanadev scored 13 grade ones, with 12 distinctions, and 3 grade twos and he has been placed number one in Guyana. Some people are of the view that Vamana's performance may have superseded every other performance in the history of CAPE in Guyana, and arguably in the Caribbean as a whole. 2016 results

SVN continues its outstanding results at the regional examinations in 2016. The Ministry of Education released the results of the top 157 students, that is, those scoring 8 Grade Ones and more.  SVN stands second in the whole country with regards to the number of students who graduated with 11 Grades Ones or more or 8 Grades Ones or more.  At SVN, 8 of the students passed 11 Grades One or more. Ramkumarie Ramdass, SVN’s 2016 top CSEC student passed 19 subjects with 13 Distinctions, 5 Grade Ones, and 1 Grade Two. In addition to receiving the President’s Award of Excellence, Ramkumarie also received a cheque for G$20,000, a laptop computer, US$500 (Suryanarayan Mandir Award presented by Dr. Amarnath)  and the Cornelia Ida Mandir’s Award. SVN’s runner-up CSEC student, Kimberly Najab with ,15 Grades Ones and 3 Grade Twos, in addition to receiving the Prime Minister’s Award of Excellence, also received US$500. Aravinda Prasad scroed 14 Grades Ones, 1 Grades Twos and 4 Grades Three and 1 Four. Geeta Camacho passed 13 Grades Ones, 2 Grades Twos and 2 Grades Three. Bharrat Sookdeo 13 Grades Ones, 1 Grade Twos and 1 Grades Three.  Azari’el Perry  12 Grades Ones, 5 Grade Two and 2 Grades Three. Aditya Kadarnauth 12 Grades Ones, 4 Grade Two and 2 Grades Threes.
